Finally watched Eternals the other day.
Didn't care for it. Wonderful cast, but it just wasn't that good.
Do I like the idea that someone has looked like Salma Hayek and Angelina Jolie for seven thousand years?
Sure. But the flashbacks were so sloppy. Really messed with the quality of movie and really made the pace all over the place.
And that's weird, cause Shang-Chi had a lot of those, YET, it worked. That was a really good movie.
They just had too many heroes in one film, I think. They should've spread it out or something. I think Eternals could've been better as a series rather than a film.
You know what really sucks about that movie? The comics did a way better job with Eternals.
It was kinda like that one Disney Show um... oh! Once Upon a Time. Like that show.
Forgetting that you're an immortal alien. That just feels fun.
"I've been a 50something Latina for seven thousand years?!"
Mhmm. 😁

*blows dust off the thread*
While it's far far from my favourite MCU movie, I mostly enjoyed it. I appreciate it for trying to do something different, and widen the scope of the Marvel movies. I am a sucker for the big cosmic stuff. It's got some great cinematography, and is almost a better constructed movie than it is a compelling story.

That is a good point. That end scene was, visually, stunning.
I just felt like... well... They had Salma Hayek, Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani, and Gemma Chan.
The casting was brilliant, I just felt like the screen time was limiting. They didn't use Salma well enough, they didn't use Angelia as much as I'd have liked. And when they did, it often felt like it just halted the movie.
So often the flashbacks completely sidetracked me from the actual story.
And the story? Eh. It wasn't bad. Definitely had its moments. Kumail, in my opinion, nailed it.
