Red Hair in a pixie cut, with freckled skin tatted with fiery red phoenixes, a pear shaped beauty in a green top with cut up jeans wrapped tight around her wide hips and pillowy rear end, sits in the front of a PTA meeting, all the moms left and right eying the strange woman with piercings on both brows, lower lip, and chain on her left ear.
"What's a mutie doing at this school???" A loud whisper echoes in the multipurpose room.
"She doesn't have a kid here, does she???"
"Who brought someone like that to a PTA Meeting."
The red raises her head to see a pregnant blonde, heavy set figure in a white floral dress, scowling with hair in an updo.
"Babe." Jean Grey, head chef at a bistro in M-Town known as Xavier's, winks playfully.
Emma Frost, recently divorced, recently out of the closet, with hands on her ripe belly sits down with a shaking head.
"You said you'd dress appropriately." Emma sighs.
"This is appropriate." Jean reasons.
"Not for a PTA meeting!!!" Emma thwacks Jean on the leg.
"Emma, is this your friend???" A middle aged woman in a pink tracksuit questions.
"Yeah, Emma, am I your friend???" Jean asks in a mocking tone.

"This Jean Grey. A close...friend," Emma lied smoothly. As if she'd done it before -- which she had. Many times. Her fellow PTA moms couldn't know that she was dating a woman when she was still pregnant with her ex-husband's baby!
"Friend." Jean rolled her eyes and snorted. "Right."
The woman in the pink track suit turned away after giving Emma a strange look. The blonde gently cradled her big baby belly and leaned back in the too small chair.
<"Once I have this baby, then we can be open about us,"> Emma promised her girlfriend telepathically.
<"I'll believe it when I see it,"> Jean shot back. <"Nothing scares you more than all these prissy, stuck up women knowing I'm the kind of person you're attracted to.">
<"Jean, I don't need this right now."> Emma grunted when her baby kicked hard against her bladder. She winced and shot Jean a deathly look. <"We'll talk about it when we get home.">
<"I think you've forgotten than you literally cheated on your husband to be with me,"> Jean continued as a woman named Kitty Pryde began talking about the upcoming school carnival.
<"Forgotten? Are you kidding me?"> Emma scoffed. <"Jean, I really don't want to do this right now.">
<"If you weren't pregnant, you'd be sleeping on the couch.">
"Mrs. Summers?"
Emma looked up -- Kitty was talking directly to her. "It's...it's Ms. Frost now."
Kitty raised a brow. "Right. Ms. Frost. You signed up to volunteer for the school carnival, correct?"
Emma smiled slightly. "Yes...my friend and I will be handling the snacks booth."
Jean rolled her eyes again. There was that word -- "friend." She hated it so much.
"Wonderful. Please make sure to put all your info for you and your 'friend' on the sign-up sheet."
Emma could feel everyone's eyes and minds on her. She wasn't even out yet but she was still the talk of the town. Not for the first time, she wondered why she couldn't just be straight and normal like the other boring housewives in Salem!

"How the fuck am I being the fucking problem?!" Jean questions while spatchcocking a chicken like a pro.
Her sisters, Wanda and Lorna, respectively a heavy set brunette in her late 40s with big, pillowy breasts and a green haired woman in her late 30s covered head to toe in tats.
They say nothing as Jean goes in her rant.
"I don't date married women. That's my rule. But I made an exception for Emma and boy was that stupid! But then she actually comes clean and divorces that Mute in a Closet Fuck Scott Summers and of course I was touched! But how the fuck are we suppose to move forward as a couple if I'm only just a "friend" in public? That's bullshit! Bullshit!"
"I mean, she's upfront about you with her kids." Wanda points out.
"And you're living with her now." Lorna adds while taking away the chicken Jean's been psychotically smashing with her hands.
"Not to mention you're in the process of adopting all three of her kids. Jean, it sounds like Emma is trying. She just hasn't been out of the closet as long as you have."
Jean sighs.
"Yeah, I know. And another thing. That school is full of muties pretending to be baselines. It's nuts! You should've seen this soccer mom, Kitty. Big Girl, Wanda. Bigger than you."
Wanda scowls, was that an important detail???
"My point is, even the head of the PTA was a mutant in hiding! And it's the same with Emma's bougie neighborhood! Muties to the left, Muties to the right, Muties down the street, Muties at the park! It's nuts!"
"Yeah, that shit happens with Alphas and Omegas." Lorna laughs. "Can we get back to cooking any time soon?"
"I love Emmy. I do..."
Wanda and Lorna sigh. Jean has never been this intense with a relationship before. It's kinda scary!
"But I'm not going to change just to fit in with her bullshit little world!"
"Jean!" A mature blonde in a blue pantsuit appears into the kitchen. It was her manager and mother, Charlie Xavier.
"Mom???"
Charlie crosses her arms.
"Where the heck is that chicken piccata!?!"
"Coming right up!" Jean shuffles in the kitchen, her hip hitting the side of a table.
Charlie looks and Wanda and Lorna, shaking her head.
<"Go easy on your sister. She's never been in a serious relationship before."> Charlie telepathically communicates in a rather motherly and empathetic tone.
"I will hire a new head chef!!!" Charlie threatens, the opposite of how she really feels.
"And mom wonders why Jean turned out the way she did!" Lorna whispers to Wanda.

Emma hasn't worked in years -- Scott made a nice salary and made more than enough to support their family of five. Since her divorce, Emma has been forced to pick up a job -- something that her swollen ankles hates. The pregnant blonde rubbed her aching back as she stood at the cash register of a little downtown boutique. It catered to the kind of woman she used to be -- "baseline" (really just mutants in hiding), waspy married woman with figures that weren't nearly as trim as they were in their twenties. It wasn't great money but it was something. And she needed something to be completely separate from her ex.
Speaking of ex...
The little bell over the door dinged as a lanky, middle-aged man wearing red sunglasses walked into the store.
"Scott." Emma's eyes narrowed. "What are you doing here?"
He came over to the register, ignoring the stares of two old ladies who were staring at the altercation like it was a train wreck. Which, it likely was going to be!
"Emma, I've heard...rumors."
Emma sighed and moved her weight to her other foot. Her sandals were giving her swollen feet some serious pain. "Scott, get out."
"You've blocked me on everything -- this was my only option," Scott argued. "You know I didn't want this. I wanted us to be a family."
Emma rolled her eyes and did her best to keep her composure. It wasn't easy considering how much she hated Scott nowadays. "Yeah, that didn't work out. You were a controlling asshole and I left you."
"And you were cheating on me," Scott replied flatly. "With a woman."
Emma...
- Denies it. - Admits to it.

"Oh, so you weren't fucking your secretary, Betsy, for the last eight years?" Emma admits to her adultery while pointing out Scott's. "Like I didn't notice how much her son looks like you?!"
"This isn't about me." Scott shakes his head. "It's about you cheating on me with some-some mutie from M-Town!"
Emma shakes her head. Scott is the epitome of this suburban nightmare. A mutant who hates what he is and pretends to be something else entirely.
Emma is tired living a lie. It's pathetic.
Emma lowers her head, turning towards a mannequin, a hand on her pregnant belly, taking a deep breath.
"You're just an Alpha pretending to be a Baseline. You hate yourself. You hate everything! You don't love, Scott! You don't! You haven't loved me in years and I don't really know if you ever did. I've just been a trophy and I'm sick of it!" Emma huffs. "Jean is amazing. You could learn a thing or two from her! She's so genuine, so real. I love her! I don't think I ever had that kind of love till now. I love how she makes me feel! I actually feel like I'm being me when I'm with her and--"
Emma turns her head, eyes wide at the sight of Jean giving Scott a powerful headlock. Her green eyes teary with joy."
"Go on." Jean smiles as Scott gasps for air. "He's still conscious... for now!!!"

Emma and Jean sit inside a McCoy Burgers. Jean, grubbing down on a Beast Burger, Emma picking at a Chicken Caesar Salad.
"I got fired." Emma sighs.
"I'm sorry."
"It's fine." Emma laughs. "I chose this. I want this... god, I want this!"
Jean blushes, grease running down her chin.
"I've been out of the closet since middle school and my parents are very proud of being mutants. I get it, Emmy, you had to pretend for so long... of course this is a lot!"
"How are you being so rational after knocking out my ex?" Emma continues to chuckle.
"Good point." Jean takes a slurp from her strawberry milkshake.

"You want me to work with you?" Emma asked softly.
Jean shrugged her pudgy shoulders. "I mean, there isn't a whole lot on your resume. But I know you can do it -- plus we'd get to hang out all day. It'd be great."
Emma smiled softly. "I'd really be moving on from my old life..."
Jean grabbed her girlfriend's hands tightly. They were a little greasy from the burger but Emma didn't pull away. "It's time, babe. Let's live life together! Let's actually be a real couple. Please?"
Emma thought about it for a moment. Jean was right -- getting hired somewhere else wouldn't be easy. And she did need the money. Plus, getting to spend time with that tatted redhead was always welcome. "Sure. Let's do it."
"Great! Oh, I can't wait. Mom was trying to hire a new waitress anyway and --"
"Your mom?"
Jean raised a pierced brow. "Well, yeah. My parents own the place, remember?"
Emma had actually completely forgotten that. She'd never met Jean's parents -- the topic just hadn't really come up before. She'd never even met Jean's sisters, though she really did want to. It was just that, so far, Jean has mostly lived on Emma's side of town. The blonde hadn't ventured over into M-Town much.
"So, I guess I'll have to meet them beforehand, right?"
Jean nodded, showing off her double chin. "Yep. Don't worry babe -- they're gonna love you!"

Up until recently, Emma hadn't had a job interview since she was a sixteen years old. And at that time, she thought that job interview for the Gap was absolutely beyond stressful.
Of course, she never realized how much more stressful it'd be when the 65 year old blonde giving the interview is her soon to be mother-in-law.
"How many kids do you have?" Charlie asks, eyes squinting, annoyed she can't get into that milf's head.
At the end of the day, Charlie is a busybody who needs to know absolutely everything about everyone. Telepaths like Emma will always get an earful of questions about every and any little thing.
"Three." Emma responds with a racing heart.
"How old are they and what are their names?"
"Esme, Irma, and Celeste. They're 9, 7, and 6."
"And their birthdays?"
"What?"
"When are their birthdays. As their grandma, I need to know this, dear!"
"...December 4th...February 8th... and July 13th."
Charlie nods.
"Do you care how much I spend on their birthday gifts? Can I go all out or would you prefer I follow a budget?"
"I mean... I don't want my kids spoiled but--"
"200 dollar limit?"
"... Sure?"
Charlie smiles.
"Do they have any allergies I should know about? Do they like fish? Have you thought of any names for your baby? When's your due date? Can I throw your baby shower? What's your thoughts on a Sunday dinner???"
"... I'm sorry... did-did I get the job?"
Charlie raises a puzzled brow.
"Of course, dear, your my daughter's fiancée! Now, answer my questions. Do your kids have any allergies? Do they like--"
"Charlie." A handsomely rugged man with silver hair appears by the door frame.
"Mom." Jean appears by her father's side.
"That's enough!" They say in unison.
Charlie frowns. What's the big deal? It's not like she asked anything inappropriate!!!
*** "So, I'm Wanda, this is Lorna..." Wanna points to a slender woman in her late forties, dressed in an aquarium top with blue jeans. "And this is my twin sister, Pietra, if you'd believe it!"
"Welcome to the family." Pietra extends her hand out to Emma.
"Thanks." Emma smiles, sitting on a couch with Jean to her left and Eric to her right.
"I must apologize about my wife, Charlie. She's been so excited about Jean finally settling down. All our kids having kids is her dream, you see. Jean was the last hold out."
Jean rolls her eyes.
"My mom is a nut sometimes... but she means well."
"... did she seriously print out a list of apartments in M-Town?"
Jean nods.
"You think that's bad, she's been researching sperm donors for me since I turned 30!!!" Jean laughs.
"Well excuse me for wanting grandchildren!"
"You already have four, mother!"
"Well now it's seven with one on the way!" Charlie smirks.
Jean once again sighs.
"Again, she means well." Jean smiles.

"Well, technically I have eight grandchildren..." Charlie looked at Jean and the redhead paled.
"Mom! Why would you bring that up?!"
Emma raised a quizzical brow. "Bring what up?"
"I...I actually put a baby up for adoption when I was sixteen," Jean explained very quietly. She awkwardly rubbed her hands together and squeezed her fat thighs. "I don't really want to talk about it right now." She glanced at her family and her step-father gave her a sympathetic smile.
"Of course. Let's get the paperwork started for Emma, dear." He took Charlie's hand and kissed her on the cheek. "When can you start, Emma?"
"Tomorrow? I really need to work before this little one comes." She patted her big belly.
The rest of Jean's family went back to the kitchen, leaving Jean and Emma alone at the front of the closed restaurant. "I'm sorry your mom brought that up," Emma started. "I just...I never knew."
Jean shrugged. "I hate talking about it. Being a pregnant teenager was a nightmare."
"I can imagine."
Jean put her head in her hands. "It was...at a party. I got pretty drunk -- I was kind of a mess back then. Alcohol, drugs, everything in between. I honestly don't even remember what exactly happened but I ended up in bed with some guy. It was horrible but I felt like I was out of my body -- I couldn't do anything about it. Couple weeks later, I found out I was pregnant."
"I'm so sorry, Jean." Emma wrapped her arms around her girlfriend, giving her a reassuring kiss on the cheek. "I'm so sorry."
Jean wiped away a stray tear. "The baby was a girl. I knew I couldn't abort her but I also couldn't keep her. The bullying was terrible. Everyone knew I was gay so they'd make tons of jokes about me being pregnant. I really don't like thinking about that time..."
"Is that why you didn't want to have kids?" Emma asked honestly.
Jean nodded. "Kind of. I also just hadn't met someone who I wanted to settle down with. Until you."
Emma smiled. "Have you ever tried to contact her? Your baby?"
Jean shook her head quickly. "No, definitely not. I'm sure she's with a good family. But...I do think about her. She'd be twenty-one now."
Emma kept her arms around her girlfriend for a long time. They sat in silence as Jean wiped away a few more tears. It was the kind of tender moment neither of them had ever had with partners in the past. It was strangely nice.

"It's actually a pretty silly story." Emma, sitting in a stool during her first break on her very first shift at Xavier's, explains to the middle aged, heavyset bartender known as Mama Storm.
Her hair in white Mohawk, her potbelly poking out of her black top, arms beefy, the African Immigrant smiles warmly while pouring Emma a non alcoholic mimosa.
She takes not how the apron wrapped around Emma's pregnant body lifts up her breasts rather seductively.
"Tell me all about it." Mama Storm insists. "Jean won't tell us!!!"
Emma laughs.
"Well, it's funny... About six months ago, Jean was having a bender with a friend from college..."
"Rogue?"
Emma nods.
"Jean is really drunk, like really, really drunk, and she Ubers the wrong address home. My address. She's knocking on my door, shouting. My husband was 'on a business trip'." Emma air quotes.
The reality was Scott was with his mistress and bastard son. Emma knew that then and now. Truthfully, at the time, it was a difficult lie she allowed. It's funny how the universe have her Jean at that moment of shame!
"I let her inside because she's making a scene and she just won't stop complementing me. 'You're so pretty', 'You're glowing', 'I love your eyes!'." Emma starts to blush. "... I don't know what happened... I woke up that next morning and we're sharing a bed together." Emma smiles. "And we've been sharing one ever since!"
"Awe." Mama Storm gushes. "That's sweet."
Emma nods.
"Jean doesn't drink that much now. She doesn't want to be a bad influence on our kids."
"That's good." Mama Storm nods. "I'm glad she's cutting back."

"Um, excuse me?"
Emma and Mama Storm turned to see a young redhead standing near the bar.
"Oh, sorry! Let me get you seated," Emma started nervously. She tried twice to get up but it wasn't till the third try that she was able to rock her pregnant figure to a standing position. She smiled tiredly and went to grab a menu for the redhead. It was 3:30 so the place was empty -- Emma hadn't really thought anyone would be coming in until the dinner rush.
The girl shook her head quickly. "Actually...I'm not here to eat. I was looking for a woman...Jean Grey? Does she work here?"
Emma's eyebrows shot up. Mama Storm stopped cleaning the glass she'd been working on.
"She does. She's the head chef here," Emma explained. "Are you looking for a job or...?"
The girl shook her head again. She looked worried and a little scared. "No...no. I...this is going to sound absolutely ridiculous. But...well, I think she's my mom. My biological mom. Can I talk to her?"
Both Emma and Mama Storm froze. It was a good thing Charlie wasn't standing there -- she probably would've broken down into tears! When Jean gave birth she supported her daughter's decision to put the baby up for adoption but she always wanted another grandchild.
"Um, yes. Of course, definitely." Emma awkwardly smiled and began waddling back to the kitchen. "She's just back here, prepping for the dinner rush." Emma opened the door and spied her girlfriend by the freezer. "Honey? Someone is here for you."
Jean turned and immediately she knew who the girl was. They actually looked quite similar -- though the redhead was much slimmer than Jean and she was dressed in a preppy tennis skirt and a pink blouse. But their facial features were near identical -- right down to Jean's bright green eyes.
"Jean? I'm Rachel. Your daughter."

"Woah, Woah, Woah, where are you going?!" Rachel shouts as Jean stomps out of the kitchen, her big fat ass giving Rachel a sneak peak of her own future.
Jean does not stop and is quickly out the door.
"Jean?" Emma questions. "Jean?!"
The door bells chiming, Rachel stands dumbfounded at her biological mother's actions.
"... How about I buy you a burger, Sweetie?" Emma empathetically offers.
***
"So... how long have you known my mom?" Rachel questions while checking down on a western bacon smash burger much in a fashion similar to her mom.
"About Six months." Emma scratches the back of her neck.
"Is she seeing anyone?"
"Yeah... ME." Emma blushes.
"... Oh." Rachel's eyes lit up.
"We're actually engaged." Emma touches her belly. The action got Rachel a little steamy.
So now Jean is ready to have kids?!
"Look, Rachel, your mom was 16 when she had you... and from what it sounds like, she was drunk, she was confused, and she wanted to know then and there if she was gay or not. Turns out she was."
"So I was a mistake?" Rachel huffs.
"Rachel--"
"No-No, it's fine. I was an accident. That's so great to know! Wow, I can't believe she just ran out on me like that. That's so fucked up! My grandma said she finally wanted to see me and--"
"What was that?"
"What?"
"What did you just say?" Emma questions.
"My Grandma, Charlie, she contacted me and told me my Mom is finally ready to have a relationship with me and--"
"Wow." Emma sighs. "Rachel, I've only know your grandma for a few days... but I can tell you this, she's a busybody who made that decision, not Jean."
"What?"
"Jean had no idea you were coming. Your grandma set this all up."
"... Oh." Rachel frowns. "That's somehow worse."

"Oh." Emma tried to hide her shock. "Are you..."
"Married?" Rachel shook her head. "No. Just a boyfriend, Kurt. We definitely aren't ready for marriage. I'm just feeling kind of overwhelmed...I don't know why I thought finding Jean would make me see things differently. Seems kind of silly, doesn't it?"
"No, it doesn't seem silly." Emma gave the girl a sympathetic smile. "Jean...before I met her, she was struggling. Drinking, drugs, other women. She's trying to change because of me and my kids but it hasn't been easy for her."
"So what are you trying to say?"
Emma shrugged her shoulders, jostling her heavy breasts. "Jean will come around. But it's going to take some time -- and it might not be what you imagined it would be. I don't think she'll have a lot of insight into babies...she's terrified about this one!" Emma rubbed her maternal bulge.
"Right. Maybe this was all just a bad idea..."

Jean sits on a couch, her muffin top out, sobbing light as she demeats a piece of fried chicken while watching How I Met Your Mother,
The grease dribbles down her freckled chest, flowing in tandem with tears.
Emma slowly sits to Jean's right, a look of concern on her rounded face.
"Your Mom and Dad are watching the kids tonight." Emma explains.
"Cool." Jean huffs and puffs, tearing into a chicken leg.
"Your Dad gave your Mom and earful. She's going to apologize tomorrow."
Jean rolls her eyes. Like she'll really apologize!
"Rachel understands you're not ready to see her... but maybe some day you could--"
"I was raped."
Emma blinks erratically, Jean pauses the tv, a silence fills the room for a good 5 minutes.
"... What was that?" Emma questions what Jean said.
"I never told my parents. I didn't tell anyone what happened. But I got teleroofied at a party when I was 16 by a friend."
Teleroofies are specifically designed for telepaths in mind. And for an Omega like Jean, it took a lot to get her compliant!
Jean starts to break in tears, Emma finds her arms wrapping around her love.
"I don't... Jean... I'm... I'm so sorry!" Emma begins to tear up herself.
"I hate that Rachel wasn't a part of my life. I really do! But I can't... I just can't, Emma! I can't! I just can't! I can't!"
"It's okay, Jean. It's..." Emma takes a deep breath. "She should know."
"What?! No!" Jean huffs. "I don't want her to think that way! She doesn't deserve that! I made sure she had a nice home with a nice family who loves her and that's exactly what she deserves! I could never let Rachel think I hate her! I don't... but I just... I can't!"

The next day at work, Charlie was waiting for Jean and Emma as they walked in. The curvy blonde had her arms crossed and a frown on her face.
"Jean. I'm sorry for calling Rachel." She paused. "But she deserves to know who her real mother is. And I hope you --"
"Charlie," Emma interrupted delicately. "Thanks for watching the kids last night and taking them to school this morning. Jean had a difficult night and she needs some time, okay?"
Emma didn't wait for a reply -- she just ushered Jean to the kitchen, away from her overbearing mother. Jean had tears in her eyes as she tied an apron around her chubby belly.
"I'm sorry," she sniffled. "I just...I can't. With Rachel."
"I know." Emma put her arms around Jean as best she could. "No one is going to rush you. I'm not going to let Charlie rush you."
Jean wiped away a tear and smiled. "Thanks. For protecting me, for being there for me. I can't wait to be married to you."
They kissed before Emma had to go back to the front of the restaurant to wait tables. Jean watched her out of the kitchen door window with a smile. She'd gotten pretty lucky with Emma.
---
The dinner rush was just filtering out when Emma felt a twinge in her belly. She put a hand to her side and took a long deep breath as she bent over a table. Her baby kicked a few times -- hard -- and she had a clue what was happening. She'd already had three kids after all. It was time for this baby to come.
"Emma? You okay?" Mama Storm asked from the bar.
Emma gritted her teeth as she felt something wet between her legs. Her panties were soaked -- her water had broken.
"Can you...can you get Jean? I think this baby is coming. Now."

"What the hell are you doing here???" Scott questions to the woman who stole his wife.
"What am I doing here? My Fiancée went into labor!"
"With my baby."
Jean rolls her eyes.
"Scott, you better leave now before I telepathically make you crap your pants."
"I'd like to see you try you fucking--"
Charlie pops up and slaps the man in the back of the head.
"Your kids are here! Sit down and be quiet!"
Scott complies, Jean scowls as Charlie sits.
"Sweetie, he is the father. He should be allowed to be here. Even if Emma is with you now."
"Fine." Jean grunts.
To make things worse, Rachel appears by the doorway.
Jean's eyes lit up, Lorna hands her baby to her mom and walks over to the young redhead.
"Hi, I'm you Aunt Lorna." Lorna smirks. "Wow, you look exactly like Jean!"
"Is Emma okay?"
Lorna nods.
"Mama Storm told me she went into labor. I got worried. She seems like a really nice lady."
"She is. And she's fine. She's resting right now. The baby came out with no problems."
"That's good..." Rachel looks over at Jean, her fatty legs going up and down, her sagging breasts bouncing, clearly, wanting to jolt out of the hospital.
